Helping women and children in need move toward self-sufficiency and stability through advocacy, outreach and charitable giving.
2019 Partner Charity: Mockingbird Society
The Mockingbird Society is an advocacy organization that provides meaningful opportunities for youth across Washington state to participate in the social justice effort to improve the foster care system. Their work includes working with foster families and child-placing agencies to improve outcomes for both foster kids and foster parents. Recognizing a clear link between experience in the child welfare system and homelessness, Mockingbird also began addressing issues around youth homelessness in 2013.
Women’s Philanthropic Collective of Seattle was founded in January 2008 by a group of women who wanted to help. To help the disenfranchised, underserved, and struggling within our community through both financial gifts and direct service. Today, Women’s Philanthropic Collective has grown into a group of more than 30 women whose diverse blend of interests and expertise drive their passion for giving back to their community, investing in future, and educating themselves.

Our group meets monthly to discuss our annual charity, quarterly volunteer opportunities, and collect dues. WPC starts the year off by presenting charities that align with our mission. The group designates one charity as our WPC annual beneficiary. Our annual beneficiary, if local, receives volunteer time in addition to philanthropic donations. Our annual event earnings are split 50/50 between our current beneficiary and future WPC charities.
